Ostuni: guided tour to discover magical herbs

In this journey we will discover the autochthonous varieties of the Alto Salento that since the dawn of time the salentini gathered to treat themselves or simply to feed themselves: medicinal herbs, medical herbs, edible flowers and spontaneous fruits are the protagonists of this fascinating tour of colors and the smells of a land kissed by the sun, by the sea and by a veil of magic. Depending on the season, we will meet and harvest, in respect of nature, asphodels, asparagus, the different varieties of Mediterranean orchid including some very rare, rosemary, officinal sage, calendula, helichrysum, lentisk, laurel, the marine cistus, the myrtle, the juniper, the butcher's broom, the wild poppy, the garlic, the anise and many others. The Mediterranean scrub is not an autonomous formation but derives from the degradation of the primary forests of the area and mainly from the undergrowth of this particular vegetation which by the action of various anthropic factors has evolved into what we can admire today.
[Image results for salento mediterranea] On request, it is possible to organize a laboratory for the creation of a vegetable soap during which the technical-scientific concepts and the method for self-production will be provided starting from the herbs collected during the tour.
There will be a tasting of organic extra virgin olive oil, accompanied by homemade bread, samples of typical local products and a glass of wine from native vines.
